WELCOME

Supporting a child with additional needs often requires immense time, energy and emotional resilience, leaving little opportunity for parents to focus on their own wellbeing. This programme offers parents an opportunity to step out of the caring role and simply 'be' alongside horses, in a compassionate and non judgemental environment. Join Clíona (Cara Capall Therapy) and Louise Yourell (Westmeath Counselling Services) at Stewarts Care Regional Equine Therapy Hub Kilcloon, Co. Meath for a six week Equine Assisted Wellbeing Programme for parents of children with additional needs.

What to expect:

  • A small, supportive group of parents.

  • Ground based activities with free roaming horses (no horse riding).

  • Time to pause, reflect and reconnect in a calm and supportive setting.

  • Facilitated by a certified Eagala team, using this internationally recognised approach.

  • No previous horse experience required.

We look forward to welcoming you to spend time alongside these special horses in a calm, supportive and reflective environment.

What if I've never done anything like this before?

That's absolutely fine. Most people joining the programme will be new to Eagala and equine assisted wellbeing. Everyone is welcome to approach things at their own pace and comfort level and we will facilitate whatever is needed to ensure your comfort and safety. As an Eagala team, (both the humans and horses!) will support you through each session at a pace that's comfortable for you.
